Born in Querétaro, Mexico, in 1993, Renata Martínez Fonseca is a Mexican artist, designer, and illustrator based in Querétaro. Her practice moves fluidly between art, illustration, and design, exploring the subtleties of everyday life through humor, drawing, painting, and distinctive characters. Working across analogue and digital media, she develops a visual language shaped by
observation, personal experiences, images, stories, and the small details of everyday life.
For Martínez Fonseca, drawing is a way of understanding the world as well as herself. Her artistic practice encompasses painting, illustration, murals, and graphic design, allowing different techniques and forms of image-making to inform one another. Her artistic and cultural projects include murals with Nueve Arte Urbano and The HUB, a residency at NOPOINT Atelier, and
collaborations with Pangeaseed and Noche de Museos, a cultural program of the Government of Querétaro. Alongside her artistic practice, she has also developed El Apapacho Café with her family, bringing her visual sensibility into a shared creative and cultural space.
Currently, Martínez Fonseca continues to explore the relationship between memory, personal experience, and everyday life, transforming her observations into playful and distinctive
visual worlds. Her work reflects an ongoing interest in collecting,
interpreting, and reimagining the images and experiences that surround her.
Through drawing, painting, illustration, and printmaking, she continues to expand her practice while developing new projects and collaborations. She now joins PRINTED PRINTED, bringing her artworks to walls and spaces worldwide.
