Originally from Istanbul and currently based in Curçay-sur-Dive, France, Ahmet Başar studied Graphic Arts at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. His practice centers on abstract painting, creating open visual fields that invite interpretation, play, and personal encounters.
Working primarily with large-scale acrylic compositions, he explores the deconstruction of form, colour relationships, and fragments of everyday memory. Guided by curiosity, he uses bold surfaces and layered gestures to draw viewers into an active dialogue with the work.
Başar has exhibited internationally and collaborated with galleries and institutions including the Istanbul State Museum of Painting and Sculpture. His works are held in private collections worldwide. He continues to develop new projects from his studio in France while collaborating with PP to bring his artworks to walls and spaces internationally.
